Privacy policy
- We store only what you enter to use the app: your account, portfolio entries, watchlist and alerts.
- We never ask for your TMS, MeroShare or bank passwords, and we cannot trade on your behalf.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- You can delete your account and all its data from the app at any time.
Who we are
ShareSathi is a portfolio tracking and market information app for investors in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). In this policy “ShareSathi”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs the app. You can reach us at support@sharesathi.com.
Information we collect

We do not collect your contacts, photos, location, broker or bank credentials, or demat account details. The app does not contain advertising or third-party analytics.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: your portfolio, valuations, tax summaries, watchlist and alerts.
- To send the notifications you asked for, such as a take-profit or stop-loss being reached, or an alert level adjusted for a bonus or right issue.
- To protect the service against misuse and to fix problems.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell, rent or trade it.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run ShareSathi, and only what they need:
- Hosting provider: our servers and database, where your account and entries are stored.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service: to deliver notifications to your phone. They receive your device token and the alert text.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from an authority in Nepal. If ShareSathi is ever transferred to a new owner, this policy will continue to apply to your information.
Market data
Prices, company names and sectors shown in the app come from public market data sources and are processed on our servers. This data is about listed companies, not about you. It may be delayed or contain errors; please confirm with your broker or NEPSE before trading.
How we protect it
- The app talks to our servers only over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Passwords are hashed. Your sign-in token is kept in your phone’s secure storage (Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android).
- Each account can see only its own portfolios, watchlist and alerts.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected users promptly if a breach puts their data at risk.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete it straight away from our live systems. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the app, open Profile → Delete account and confirm with your password. This permanently removes your account, portfolios, entries, watchlist, alerts, alert history and device tokens. You can also email us to ask for deletion.
- Edit or remove entries: you can change or delete portfolio entries, watchlist stocks and alerts at any time.
- Notifications: you can turn notifications off in your phone’s settings. Alerts still appear on the Alerts screen.
- Access: you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Children
ShareSathi is meant for adults who invest. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Not investment advice
ShareSathi provides information and calculations to help you track and understand your investments. It is not investment, tax or legal advice. Tax figures are estimates based on published rates and your entries.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
